Noles Lead For Bama Standout

It looks like the Noles and the Crimson Tide will battle once again for another top-notch player from the state of Alabama. Both programs have offered and are very high on the 6-foot-4 and 239 pound standout.

"I have Florida State and Alabama one and two," Preston Dial of Mobile (AL) Ums Wright Preparatory School. "I went on an unofficial visit to Florida State the day before the Nike camp. Jeff Bowden showed me around and he seemed really nice and honest. The facilities are top-notch. Florida State is losing three seniors and they will only have tight end next year."

Preston grew up a fan of Alabama.

"Alabama has several tight ends but Coach Wyatt said if I work real hard I could get into the mix," he said.

The Alabama standout will make a decision sooner than latter.

"I plan on committing sometime in the summer," he said. "I will most likely attend a one day mini-camp at Alabama and Florida State and then make a decision. Once I do make a decision, I won't change my mind. I will be solid."

As a junior, he caught 25 passes for 350 yards and four touch downs.

"I'm a pretty solid blocker and I have decent hands," he said. "At the combine I benched 185 pounds nineteen times. I also ran a 4.4 20-yard shuttle."

Speaking of the combine, Dial hit it off with a couple other campers.

"I talked with Marcus Sims," he said. "He's a pretty talented player. I'm friends with Caz Piurowski. I've met him at several camps last year. We root for each other and we have talked about playing at the same school."
