Jacksonville DE Grew Up a Nole Fan

Jacksonville (Fla.) Wolfson is the home of one of the top pass-rushers in the state of Florida. The 6-foot-4 and 224 pound All-First Coast standout has already picked up three offers and he's hoping for more.

Pass rushing specialist Rodney Gnat already has offers from Louisville, UConn and Central Florida.

"Right now my top five is Central Florida, Maryland, North Carolina State, Louisville and South Carolina.

Gnat would love to hear more from two in-state schools.

"Coach Mattison called and told me if I get my grade point average up that I should be fine," he said. "Florida State was my favorite team growing up. I would love to play for Bobby Bowden. I have a sisters and brother that attend school in Tallahassee."

At last week's spring game, Gnat impressed several college scouts by recording 3 and ½ tackles and a sack.

"I feel like that I have several strengths, like my size and speed," he said. "I use my hands real well and I have good closing speed."

As a junior, he recorded 30 tackles and three sacks.

This summer, Gnat will attend football camps at Central Florida, Florida and Miami.
