Is All-American OL Considering FSU?

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas is home of the countries top offensive tackle prospect. The 6-foot-7 and 280 pound high school All-American hasn't been showing any interest in the Seminoles. Since Coach McHale's visit, has that changed?

Offensive tackle Sam Young has approximately 30 offers in all, including the 3 Florida schools. The Noles haven't been anywhere on his radar. Has that changed?

"After talking with coach McHale, my views on FSU have changed," Sam Young said. "I knew they were not performing up to their normal standards this year. However talking with coach McHale was kind of an eye opener for me as far as learning about their philosophy and direction with the program. After talking with coach, I definitely have some interest in Florida State."

Young won't attend any summer football camps but he does have plans to visit Florida State unofficially.

"We are trying to visit Florida State in June or July," he said. "My dad and I are still working on the plans."

What will be some factors in his college decision?

"The factors in my decision will be academics first," he said. "Then athletics and how I will fit in with the school atmosphere."

Young is an excellent student who reports a 3.4 grade point average and a score of 1830 on the SAT.

Scouting Report: An ideal frame to play offensive tackle on the college level. Young has size; footwork and strength to be one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the country.
