Is Mincey Having a Change of Heart?

This past February, the Noles signed what many consider to be the top overall defensive end prospect in the country. However, the 6-foot-6 and 240 pound standout from Folkston (GA) Charlton Country will have to spend a semester at Hargrave Military Academy first. Also, there have been rumors swirling around on the Florida Gator message boards that he's might possibly be looking hard at the Orange and Blue. What's the latest?

‘I'm 100% committed to Florida State," Justin Mincey said. "I talked to Jody Allen last week and I all need to do is spend a semester before at Hargrave before I enroll at Florida State."

What does he think about the rumors that he could be headed to Gainesville?

"That's not going to happen," he said.

This fall Mincey plans on breaking away from school long enough to watch the Noles take on Miami and Virginia.

Mincey is very close to former Charlton County wide receiver prospect Justin Williams.

"Justin is also Florida State bound," he said.

The South Georgia standout helped lead his team to the state finals as a junior and senior (won state title as a senior). As a junior, he recorded 86 tackles and nine sacks.
