Noles Offer Georgia Standout

In the class of 2004, Florida State signed offensive lineman Courtney Abbott of Atlanta (GA) Westlake. This year the Noles are in hot pursuit of another top lineman from the same school.

Kiante Tripp, a 6-foot-5 and 250 pound defensive end/offensive tackle, is considered one of the top athletes in the Southeast and he has the offers to back up the hype. The Seminoles are the latest team to offer him.

"Coach Odell (Haggins) called me on the phone and offered me," Tripp said. "He asked me down for the football camp and I real excited about that. I will also make unofficial visits this summer to Georgia and Florida."

Tripp has already visited Georgia and he's more familiar with that program compared to Florida and Florida State.

"I got friends at both Florida and Florida State," he said. "I know what Georgia is all about so I want to go down South to see what those programs are all about."

Until now the Seminoles haven't even been on Tripp's radar.

"My top five in order are Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State and Auburn," he said.

Tripp is an excellent student who boasts a 3.8 grade point average.

Scouting Report: If there's anyone out there with more upside then this kid please let me know, I think he could be young Simeon Rice. Tripp is extremely competitive, and if you get him once he'll get you ten times. He's very explosive off the edge, and deceptively strong. Once he begins a solid weight training program, he'll be very tough to stop.
