Noles Offer Maryland Standout

One of the top athletes in the country has recently been offered by Florida State and the Noles are definitely in the hunt for the 6-foot-1 and 195 pound standout from Waldorf (MD) Maurice J McDonough.

A.J. Wallace, a running back/defensive back, will have a busy summer visiting several programs.

"Most schools are recruiting me as an athlete but I will probably end up playing defensive back," Wallace said. "I'm attending the Michigan camp on June 20th. I will also check out both Florida and Florida State in late June. I'm also going to try and check out Miami, LSU and Georgia sometime."

What does he like about the Florida Schools?

"I like Florida's typical style of football," he said. "Florida State is a speed team. Miami has all-around team speed."

Wallace told RenegadeReport.com that he will go with a gut feeling and he's looking to make an early impact somewhere.

"I didn't grow up with a favorite team but I did watch players like Deion Sanders," he said. "Now I like to watch Reggie Bush."

The Maryland standout has up to 35 offers, including all three Florida schools. What makes him so special?

"I'm very good at breaking on the ball and I like to hit," he said.

As a junior, Wallace rushed for 1,367 yards and 26 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 65 tackles, three interceptions and deflected 17 passes. He also had three punt returns.

Wallace is an excellent student who carries a 3.3 grade point average.
