After losing Von Wafer to the NBA, the Seminoles have picked up a phenomenal point guard in Josue Soto. As a junior Soto was named to the all-state first team for class 2A. Last season he played for his native Puerto Rican C.E.C.C. team, where he averaged 28 points a game.

This season Soto played for Arlington Country Day School in Jacksonville, where he was coached by Rex Morgan, who had nothing but praise for his star.

" In my mind he is the best point guard in the country," Coach Morgan said. "I've never seen a kid so fundamentally sound and skilled all-around. Coach Hamilton is getting a great player."

His coach also said that the main factors in his decision was his fondness of the coaching staff, wanting to stay in Florida, and the opportunity to play in the ACC. At 6 foot-0 Soto recently added 13 pounds to his frame putting him at 173 pounds. Florida State is in need of a point guard and Soto could see early playing time.
