HOOPS: Griffin to Transfer

Antonio Griffin, a rising senior forward on the Florida State University men's basketball team, has been granted a release from his scholarship and intends to transfer said head coach Leonard Hamilton.

"Antonio has unfortunately expressed his desire to transfer from Florida State University," said Hamilton. "Antonio has been a pleasure to coach and we wish him the best of luck in the future. He is an outstanding athlete who has worked hard and done everything we have asked him to do as a Seminole. I am sure he will fit in well and be a tremendous asset to another program."

Griffin played in nine games for the Seminoles during the 2004-05 season after transferring from Scottsdale (Az.) Community College. He averaged 3.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and shot .550 from the field.
