Noles Land a Big-One!

On the first day of the Florida State football camp, the Seminoles got some good news with their second commitment of the 2006 class.

With the Noles desperate to sign at least two tight ends, they accomplished half of their need by landing a big-time one from Land O Lakes (Fla.).

"I've been thinking about committing for about three weeks now," 6-foot-7 and 240 pound standout Caz Piurowski said. "I told Coach Dickey that I was ready to commit and get it off of my chest."

Shortly after pulling the trigger, he called his parents to share the good news.

"They were very excited, especially my father because he played at Florida State," he said. "I love it up here at Florida State and I can't find a negative thing about it."

On of the factors is his decision was early playing time. It doesn't hurt to have his former high school quarterback in Drew Weatherford in Garnet & Gold.

"I feel like I can come right in and start as a freshman and make an impact," he said. "It will be great catching passes from Drew (Weatherford).

As a junior, he caught 29 passes for 410 yards and six touchdowns.

Pirurowski selected the Seminoles over Miami and Auburn.
