Noles Land Commitment No. 3

The Noles got more good news today by securing their third verbal commitment of the 2006 class.

The Noles got more good news from their summer camp when they secrured a verbal commitmnet of Ryan McMahon of Rome (GA) Darlington.

"Ryan told Coach Haggins last night that he was coming," Michael McMahon said. "We're are very excited about him becoming a Seminole."

"I committed to Coach Haggins last night," 6-foot-3 and 275 pound defensive tackle Ryan McMahon said. "Florida State is the best place for me."

One of the key factors in his decision to commit to the Noles was his relationship with Coach Jody Allen and Odell Haggins.

"I really liked the coaches," he said. "Coach Haggins is only going to make me better. Early playing time was never a factor. I liked Auburn but Florida State was much better place for me to be."

Last year as a junior was McMahon's first year on the offensive line or defensive line.

"I started my first two years as fullback," he said. "As a freshman I was 210 pounds. Now I'm up to 280."

As a junior, he recorded 48 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 2 blocked field goals and 1 blocked punt last season. He also added 52 pancake blocks from his spot at offensive tackle.
