FSU Football Camp Tidbits

Today, the second day of the second session of the football camp was filled with some pretty good names. Tony Wilson of Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland and Jamal Harvey of Jacksonville (Fla.) Jackson were the headliners.

"I think I'm going to get an offer pretty soon," Wilson said. "If Florida State offers, they will be in my top five.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators have been his top two schools on his list. Will a Seminole offer change that?

"Georgia and Florida would still be my top two," he said. "Florida State only has a slight chance. They want me at wide receiver and they have a lot of them. On defense, they just lost Cromartie so that's a possibility."

In the past few years, the Seminoles have done very well recruiting the First Coast. This year it looks like the Noles could pick up another player from that area.

Jamal Harvey of Jacksonville (Fla.) Jackson was quite impressive in today's seven on seven's and word has it that an offer might be on the way soon.

"If Florida State offers, they will be my number one school," Harvey said. "They want be as a defensive back. I also like Georgia."

Offensive tackle Cruz Barrett of Daytona Beach Mainland is also hopeful for an offer.

"I think I have an offer but I'm not sure yet," the 6-foot-4 and 315 pound Barrett said. "If I can confirm the offer, I will go ahead and commit to Florida State."

Other players at the camp are Ryan Hill of Tallassee Rickards, Marcus Udell of Tallahassee Gody and Colin McCarthy of Clearwater Central Catholic.

On Friday athlete Carlos Brown of Jeffersonville (GA) Twiggs County is expected to be in Tallahassee.

In other recruiting news, we hear Florida State has made a major push for the services of Tampa Jefferson's Daron Rose.

Renegade Report also hears that wide receiver Prince Miller of Duncan (SC) will most likely make a decision before the end of the month. In a recent passing tourney, Miller's teammates would do the FSU chop every time he picked off a pass.
