Noles Offer Texas QB

With quarterback Wyatt Sexton's future uncertain, landing a quarterback in the class of 2006 is critical. The Seminoles have thrown their name into the hat of another top passer.

On Monday, Christian Ponder of Colleyville (TX) Colleyville Heritage got offered by Florida State after having a very good performance at their summer football camp. Did the 6-foot-2 and 205 pound standout say yes to his childhood favorite?

"I'm probably going to commit sometime next month," Ponder said. "I want to visit Oklahoma State before I make a decision."

Ponder grew up a fan of the Seminoles.

"Florida State is close to the top of my list," he said. "I am looking for a good relationship with the coaches and players. I'm also looking for a place that I feel the most comfortable."

Ponder has the gun to make all of the throws on the next level, and the accuracy you want to see from the position, not to mention also possessing quick feet in and out of the pocket.
He's definitely one of the top signal callers in the Lone Star State.

His parents are both graduates of Florida State and his father played defensive tackle for the Seminoles.

Other schools to offer are North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Baylor, TCU, Iowa State and UTEP.

Ponder is an excellent student with a 4.8 GPA/940 SAT (as a 7th-Grader!).

As a junior, he was 98 of 182 for 1,500 yards with seven touchdowns. He also added 303 yards rushing.
