Top OL Visits FSU

Today, the Seminoles got an unofficial visit from one of the top offensive lineman in the state of Florida.

Today, offensive lineman Jim Barrie of Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep made an unofficial visit to Florida State. The 6-foot-5 and 305 pound standout got to meet with Coach Bobby Bowden.

"Meeting with Coach Bowden was awesome," Barrie said. "He's so personable."

Barrie and family also had high praise for offensive line coach Mark McHale.

"We love him," Jim's father said. "He's a teacher and he relates to players so well. If Jim comes here he will be the most important coach for my son."

The Barrie family just visited Duke and South Carolina prior to their stop in Tallahassee.

Up next for him will be unofficial visits to LSU, Michigan and Oklahoma before he makes a decision.

Barrie, a four year starter, graded out at 90 percent last year. The physical left tackle can clean 270 pounds, bench 350 and squat 450.

He is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
