Noles are Hot after Miami DB

A few years back Miami Gulliver Prep was the home of Washington Redskin safety Sean Taylor. This year, that program has another big-time defensive back that is heavily considering the Noles.

Earlier in the week, Evan Bellamy of Miami Gulliver prep made a verbal commitment to the Seminoles. Will the Noles be able to land his teammate in cornerback Patrick Robinson?

"Right now Patrick has a top three of Tennessee, Florida State and Florida," Gulliver Prep assistant coach Ron Butler said. "Tennessee is losing Jason Allen after this season and Patrick is friends with Demetrice Morley who will be a freshman this year for the Volunteers. Florida State is Robinson's favorite team growing up. His first cousin Damian Harrell played at Florida State and he's now playing for the Colorado Crush. They hang out with each other. Patrick is very impressed with the Gators' new head coach Urban Meyer."

There's been an erroneous rumor started by a publisher of another Florida State fan site, that the Seminoles haven't tendered a firm offer for the 5-foot-11 and 180 pound standout. How does Coach Butler feel about that rumor?

"Well, the Florida State coaches are calling me everyday about Patrick," he said. "They want him real bad. He has an offer just like Bellamy. They were hoping that he would make an early commitment to them."

Robinson is blesses with excellent hips and excellent speed. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.

In addition to the Seminoles, he has offers from Pittsburgh, Florida, Rutgers, South Florida, Tennessee, Minnesota and Iowa.

Robinson is rated the 11th best player in the state according to Florida Kids. us recruiting analysis Larry Blustein.

"Probably the state's top cover guy," Blustein said. "He's this year's Demetrice Morley and he has at it all. Robinson is the total package and he will be a first year player easily."
