Noles Land Texas QB

At Florida State's summer camp, quarterback Christian Ponder impressed the coaches enough to earn a scholarship offer. The Texas standout ended his recruitment by giving the Noles some good news.

"He got up and took a shower this morning and he then committed to Florida State, his mother Christine Ponder said. "We talked to Coach Steele, Lilly and Dickey. We are very excited that Christian is headed to Florida State. I have a brother, sister, sister in-law, and brother in law and cousin that all attended Florida State."

The Ponder's will relocate to the East Coast as soon as their oldest son graduated Texas A & M.

"He wants to be a doctor and we are hoping he can get into Florida State's medical school," she said.

Ponder is an excellent student with a 4.8 GPA/940 SAT (as a 7th-Grader!).

As a junior, he was 98 of 182 for 1,500 yards with seven touchdowns. He also added 303 yards rushing.
