Do Noles Lead for South Florida Standout?

Florida State has been hot after one of the top athletes from South Florida. Where do the Noles now stand for the 5-foot-11 and 180 pound defensive back?

Patrick Robinson of Miami Gulliver Prep is one of the top athletes in the state of Florida. He has scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and many more schools.

"Patrick told me that Florida State leads for his services," Miami Gulliver Prep Assistant Coach Ron Butler said. "He feels that he could fit into their system the best. With Cromartie out injured, he sees that a lot of young guys that are getting time and he feels like he could compete with them. Florida State wants him badly. I don't see him leaving the state."

The hometown Miami Hurricanes have also thrown their name in the hat for Robinson.

"Last week Patrick took an unofficial visit to Miami and he had a real good time," Butler said. "He said that the coaches were cool. Miami has a soft offer on the table because they don't want too many people to know he's been offered. Miami calls me everyday."

This upcoming Saturday, Robinson will unofficially visit Florida when they square off against Tennessee.

Last week, the South Florida standout had seven catches for 107 yards receiving and two touchdowns in a 27-10 victory.

"Patrick is the fastest player in high school since Antone Smith," Butler said.
