"My schools are Texas A&M, USC, Oklahoma, Michigan and Florida State," Mike Morgan said. "Florida State has a great defense. I've talked with Coach Steele a while back but I haven't heard from him in a while. A & M is on the rise and they have a lot of young talent. Michigan was my favorite team growing up."
The 6-foot-3 and 185 pound linebacker watched several games this past weekend, including USC-Arkansas, Florida-Tennessee and Florida State-Boston College.
What is he looking for in a school?
"Distance won't be a factor," he said. "I'm looking for a school that has a good team, good coaches and place where the players are close."
As a junior, Morgan recorded 91 tackles and 19 sacks.
"I'm a smart player with speed," he said. "I have the ability to makes plays."
Morgan reports a 3.0 grade point average to go along with an 840 SAT test score.
Scouting Report: Position Projection: Morgan projects as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme more so than at any other position. Next, I would project him as a WILL linebacker (4-3 scheme), and then possibly as a speed end (ala a college football-sized Dwight Freeney type of DE).
