FSU Commitment Likes What He Sees

In July at the Seminole football camp, the Florida State coaches received some good news when a defensive tackle from Rome (GA) Darlington said he wanted to don the Garnet & Gold colors for the next four years of his life. Renegade Report.com caught up with the 6-foot-3 and 275 pound standout to find out how his season is going.

Florida State defensive tackle commitment Ryan McMahon has helped lead his team to a fast start with a record of 5-1.

"I have seven tackles for a loss, four sacks, an interception and a blocked extra point," McMahon said.

In a 7-6 victory, McMahon was responsible for two big-plays in an interception and a blocked extra point.

"I intercepted a pass on the last play of the game and I returned it for 20-yards to run out the clock," he said. "It was quite exciting."

The North Georgia standout hasn't attended any Seminole football games in Tallahassee this season yet but he has kept tabs on his future team via the television.

‘I watched some games and the defense looks great," he said. "I'm ready to get down there. Sometime in October I will visit for a practice. My mother will go down there with me and she's excited to meet all the coaches."

McMahon and the Florida State coaches have kept in regular contact.

"I talk with them once a week," he said. "It's either Coach Allen or Coach Haggins. They tell me to keep working hard."
