RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Florida State men's tennis team fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 4-0 Friday morning in the semifinal round of the ACC Tournament at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center. The Seminoles only win on the day came at No. 3 doubles. The Seminoles finished the season at 12-10.
In doubles play, the Seminoles got a win at the No. 3 position from senior Gustav Bucht and teammate Alex Herrera. The tandem defeated Fabio Campos and Joao Menano in an 8-3 decision. This win was not enough, however, as the Yellow Jackets took the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to win the doubles point.
The Yellow Jackets continued their streak into singles play, where they won the first three singles points to clinch the match. Freshman Mat Cloer's match against David Wright at the No. 2 position, Romain Jurd's No. 3 singles battle with Tech's Joao Menano and the No. 6 matchup netween Jarrod Owen and Stephen Moros were halted once the match was decided due to the time constraints of the tournament.
Upon returning home, the Seminoles will await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament selections.
