Seminoles are Targeting Big-Time OL

Many recruiting analysis feel that offensive tackle Daron Rose of Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson is ready to step in and contribute right away as a freshman. The dominating prep senior is seriously considering Florida State. Where do the Noles stand with the 6-foot-5 and 310 pound giant?

"Coach Bowden and Florida State have a lot of class," Rose said. "I probably get along with their coaches best. Coach McHale is a great teacher of the game."

The Seminoles will get his last visit on (1/27). Other schools to get official visits from the four-star standout are Florida, Tennessee and Michigan.

"Florida has one of the best game-day atmospheres in the country," he said. "I would probably put it in the top three."

Rose isn't the only division 1A prospect on the Jefferson high football program. Tight end Trent Pupello has been offered by both Florida and Florida State and junior quarterback Stephan Garcia will be one of the top prospects in the class of 2007.

"We have talked about playing at the same school together," he said. "Stephan would like to follow us in college. We can be his security blanket."

Rose is a big-me security blanket for any quarterback. He hasn't allowed a sack in two years.

"My biggest goal is to be the best person I can be and I would like to major in pre-law," he said.
