Noles Looking out West for DE Help

Florida State is in some need for immediate help at the defensive position and the Seminole coaching staff has turned their eyes towards a five-star junior college standout from Scottsdale (AZ) Scottsdale City College.

"I‘m heading out to visit LSU on November 25th and I'm suppose to visit Florida on December 2nd," 6-foot-6 and 270 pound defensive end Louis Holmes said. "I might also visit Florida State."

Holmes, who ended his season with approximately six sacks, has already visited Southern Cal and Arizona.

The JUCO All-American is originally from Memphis (TN) but he graduated from Dillard high school in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.).

"Doc Holliday is recruiting me from Florida and he wants me to replace a senior defensive end," he said. "They want me to play right away. Coach John Lilly from Florida State is recruiting me and I think they are losing a senior defensive end but I'm not sure."

Holmes is looking for a school that has a good environment and one that can help prepare him of his dream of playing in the NFL.

"I looking for a school that will best help me get to the next level," he said. "I want to pick a school around mid-December."

He will graduate in December and will have two years to play two at his college of choice beginning in the spring of 2006.
