JUCO All-American Rates FSU a 10

Florida State hosted one of the top JUCO offensive linemen in the country. The 6-foot-6 and 320 pound standout, who resembles former Seminoles All-American Alex Barron, likes what he sees.

"I enjoyed my visit with Florida State," 6-foot-6 and 320 pound Shannon Boatman said. "I would rate it a ten because of the total atmosphere. Some of the highlights of my trip were talking to Coach Bowden, seeing the championships, the stadium and getting to know the players."

The Junior College All-American was hosted by fullback B.J. Dean. He also got the opportunity to meet a bunch of players and coaches.

"I met all the running backs, wide receivers and the offensive line," he said. "They said there are a lot of injuries and they want me to come. Coach McHale told me that if I come in and work hard I would have a chance to start at either left or right tackle. He likes the way I bend, my long arms and my quick feet. However, he said I need to work on my strength."

What are his thoughts on Florida State and offensive line Coach Mark McHale?

"I really liked him a lot," he said. "The players said he really knows how to motivate. I can see myself playing for him. Florida State is in my top two with TCU. There are a lot of others teams in the mix that not sure I'll visit."

On Friday, Boatman will visit Oklahoma State. Other teams in the mix are Texas A & M, Texas Tech, South Carolina and Iowa State.
