South's Top LB Returns Home from Tally

Marcus Ball of Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson is considered by many to be the top linebacker prospect in the South. This weekend, the four-star standout made an official visit to Florida State. Renegade caught up with him briefly.

"I would rate my visit to Florida State as an 8 and ½," Marcus Ball said. "The people and the coaches are real cool. I hung out with Ernie Sims and Fred Rouse. Fred is my boy and he told me come on down right now. Florida State is up there. They are neck and neck with Miami."

Ball has already visited Virginia Tech and he has plans to make official visits to Florida, Tennessee and Miami before he making a decision.

"Florida is probably going to have to show me something to make me interested," he said. "Virginia Tech is up there with Florida State and Miami. Those boys got drilled last week though. I'm not sure when I'll visit Miami."

As a senior, he led his team to the state semi-finals by recording 126 tackles.

The Georgia standout compares his game to Sean Taylor.
