FSU QB Commitment Enjoys Visit

This past weekend, Florida State hosted quarterback commitment Christian Ponder of Colleyville (TX) Colleyville Heritage. Renegade Report.com was able to talk with his father (David) about the trip to Tallahassee.

"Christian really had a good time and he was taken out by Drew Weatherford," David Ponder said. "He really hit it off with Drew and he was given advice to keep things balanced in terms of football and a social life."

The 6-foot-2 and 205 pound standout was able to do several things like watch practice, meet with academic advisors and even sit in on a quarterback meeting.

"Christian has been able to talk with Coach Dickey but not one on one like he did on the visit," David Ponder said. "He really enjoyed his talk and he came back with a lot positive feeling about him."

Ponder was able to spend a lot of time with another official visitor on the trip in linebacker Marcus Ball.

"The feedback I got from Christian was that Marcus has a lot of interest in Florida State," he said. "Marcus seemed to be really enjoying himself on the visit."

As a senior, Ponder was Ponder was 190 of 304 for 2,214 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also added 911 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns.
