FSU Visits Nebraska OL Commitment

Florida State has been recruiting an offensive lineman from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland all year long. However, the 6-foot-5 and 315 pound standout wasn't offered by his childhood favorite Florida State until the day he committed to Nebraska.

"I also got offered by Florida today," Cruz Barrett said. "Coach McHale and Sexton from Florida State came by today and asked me to give them a change by visiting. They said I could compare my visit to Nebraska."

Will the Nebraska commitment visit Tallahassee?

"I'm not sure," he said. "I'm confused but I'm thinking about it. If I do visit, it will probably only be to Florida State in January. The coaches said that they need lineman real bad."

Right now the Daytona Beach standout is staying in shape by playing basketball.

"I think most schools are recruiting me as a guard," he said.

Nebraska and Florida also stopped by his house today for an in-home visit.

Barrett is a solid student who should have no problems qualifying.
