Georgia WR will Visit the Seminoles

With the loss of a couple of wide receiver prospects on the Seminole board, it appears that the Noles have turned their attention toward a speedy athlete from Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek.

Wide receiver Brent Brewer has been catching the attention of some schools in the Southeast because of his size (6-2, 195) and speed (4.28/40).

"I have offers from Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi State, Clemson and Vanderbilt," Brewer said. "Florida State told me that they were going to offer soon. They play a lot of wide receivers."

Brewer will visit Mississippi State (1/13), Georgia (1/21) and Florida State (1/27).

The Georgia standout hit it off with a couple of players at the recent Georgia North-South All-Star game.

Brandon Wood is trying to get me to go to Georgia and D'Vontrey Richardson wants me to play with him at Florida State. He told me we could both play early together down there."

Brewer is considered one of the top baseball prospects in the Southeast. As a junior he had ten home runs and he had an average of .395 in the batter's box.

I'm projected anywhere from the first to the fifth round but I'm leaning towards going to college," he said. "All the schools that are recruiting me said I can play both sports in college."

The Sandy Creek senior is a solid student who is already academically qualified.
