Will Standout LB Visit FSU?

Recently, Florida State offered a linebacker from the Palmetto State. Will the 6-foot-2 and 205 pound standout visit the Noles?

Heading into the weekend, DeKoda Watson didn't expect very much out of his official visit with South Carolina. However, the 6-foot-3 215-pounder from Aiken (S.C.) South definitely left impressed.

"It went real well," said Watson. "It was better than I expected it to be. At first, I saw South Carolina it was fine – I wasn't drooling over South Carolina. Not saying I am now, but my interest has sparked a little more than it used to be. I was thoroughly impressed."

During his stay in Columbia, Watson toured the campus discovering much more than he had during unofficial trips.

Watson's official visit tour will continue this weekend with a trip to North Carolina. He will then visit Tennessee (January 20th) and Virginia Tech (January 27th). Additionally, Watson is attempting to squeeze in an official visit with Florida State, who recently extended a scholarship offer.

"I'm trying to see if Florida State can fit in there, because they just offered me," said Watson. "I'm going to try to compromise with one of the other colleges or I might have to drop somebody."

The five aforementioned schools have been declared Watson's final five schools with no leaders at this point. Watson will take all of his official visits before making a final decision with playing time playing a major role.

"I think a big factor is playing time," said Watson. "I don't like being a bench warmer. I'm just looking out for my best interest, really."

Watson, who predominately played defensive end for South Aiken, is being looked at for outside linebacker by Tennessee, Florida State, and Virginia Tech. North Carolina and South Carolina plan to keep Watson at defensive end.
