Quotes From Head Coach Bobby Bowden

(on this year's class)

"It seems like more and more players now are waiting until the last day to announce. We recruited a total of about 40 guys and that's not that many. The interesting thing is that I thought there was more suspense this year than any other year."

(on signing six offensive linemen)

"With our lineman, we just felt we had to bring in a line of the future. We got six, and some of them are pretty dog-gone good so we'll put them in there with the players that we've got and see if we can't be more fortunate as far as injuries are concerned."

Quotes From Recruiting Coordinator John Lilly

(on the class of 31)

"As far as the class itself is concerned, it's a large class and it's a little reminiscent of a couple years ago when we had 29. It's a bit larger than the one we were able to sign last year. At the same time, if you start putting these last three classes together and the quality that's in them, we feel like we've set ourselves up for a pretty good run because of the nature of the players we've got."

(on addressing needs)

"When you sign at every position across the board the way we were able to do, you feel like you've addressed your needs pretty well. Obviously, on the offensive side of the ball, losing three senior tight ends, we needed to get some guys there and we were able to bring in two that we think are among the top ones in America."
