Another Stud at Sandalwood

Jacksonville Sandalwood has produced two big-time Division 1A players the last two years in Maurice Wells (Ohio State) and Jamar Hornsby (Florida). According to Head Coach Adam Geis, the class of 2007 will have a better prospect than the previous two at his school.

Defensive tackle Jacoby Monroe looks to be another highly recruited player from Jacksonville Sandalwood.

"Jacoby dominated the state as the freshman," Head Coach Adam Geis. "I feel he'll be a top five player in the country. I don't know too many 6-foot-2 and 285 pound players that can run a 4.6 40-yard dash. The other day for Fox 30 TV, he squatted 400 pounds ten times."

Three teams to keep your eyes on are Florida, Florida State, and Georgia Tech.

"When Urban Meyer saw him for the first time, he went to his car and wrote out a hand-written offer,' Geis said. "Jacoby is from Georgia and he grew up a fan of both Florida State and Georgia Tech."

Monroe, who was suspended for his junior season, was all-state as a sophomore.

"He's a soft spoken kid that's a good kid that did something stupid," Geis said.
