Do the Noles Still Lead for Twin Brothers?

Florida State has been targeting a pair of potential All-American offensive lineman from Lakeland (Fla.) ever since the twin brothers camped with the Seminoles over the summer. Since then, the two standouts have visited the Gators for a junior day.

Last summer Florida State offensive line coach Mark McHale was so impressed with LaShawn and James Pouncey that he extended them verbal offers

"The Florida Junior day was a lot of fun," offensive tackle James Pouncey said. "They impressed us a lot and we probably will camp with them this summer."

Pouncey, who has verbal offers Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss and Virginia, will also attend a Florida State junior day with several of his teammates.

"We will head to Florida State on February 25th for a junior day with John Brown, Chris Rainey, Jordan Hammond and Ahmad Black," he said. "We call the Florida State coaches quite a bit. Coach Odell Haggins is a good friend."

So do the Noles still lead for the services of the Pouncey twins?

"Yes, Florida State is our leader because we grew up loving the Seminoles," he said. "However, they only lead by a slight margin because USC is starting to recruit us and they are a great team. We really want to stay in state but we have to look around for the situation."

What would be the best situation for the Lakeland standouts?

"Early playing time would be a big-factor and Florida State has told us that they have that," he said. "Our God-Brother, Chris Rainey, loves Florida and we love Florida State. We all want to stick together and play for the same school. Our teammate John Brown wants to play for Florida State."

This summer the 16-year old Pouncey boys will attend the Florida State football camp once again.

James Pouncey is an excellent student who is on track academically with a 3.0 grade point average. His brother, LeShawn, is also a standout in the classroom.
