Noles Take the Lead for Jax DL

Two weekends ago a 6-foot-5 and 280 pound standout was awarded the MVP of the camp in Jacksonville. This past weekend, the Jacksonville Jackson defensive lineman visited Florida State for their first annual junior day.

"It went pretty good," D'Angelo McCray said. "I've been to Tallahassee a lot but this is the first time I got to interact with the coaches. I have friends like Leon Washington that are there. I got to meet all the coaches and some recruits."

McCray has been to Florida junior day, where he got to meet a few players from Lakeland.

"I have met some of those guys at the junior days," he said. "The Lakeland guys like Florida State a lot and they like the girls there. The girls there are pretty nice. I‘m most likely coming back for the Garnet & Gold game."

In addition to the Lakeland bunch, McCray has the Noles on top as well.

"Florida State is on top but I'm not going to commit yet," he said. "I'm going to take all of my official visits."

Cross-state rival Florida is doing everything they can to beat the Noles out on McCray.

Coach Meyer and Mattison text me every day," he said. "They want me to come to their Friday night lights deal but I'm not sure if I'm going or not."
