How is the Secondary Depth Chart Shaping Up?

Florida State has been known for it's defensive back talent and this year is no different despite being young. Renegade Report caught up with defensive back Coach James Colzie to get his take on how the defensive secondary depth chart is shaping up.

"Right now at safety, I feel like Roger Williams and Darius McClure are the best two best players," Coach Colzie said. "Darius is going to give Myron Rolle a run for his money at rover. I see both of them playing a lot."

Rolle and McClure have given the Garnet & Gold coaches something to smile about. In the last scrimmage, Renegade Report.com overheard coaches praising Rolle for shedding a couple of blocks and forcing Antone Smith to cut back inside.

At corner Jamie Robinson and Michael Ray Garvin had made a case for a lot of playing time in the fall.

"Robinson is number two behind J.R. Bryant and Garvin is behind Tony Carter," he said. "Trevor Ford hasn't done enough to move up the depth chart. Korey Mangum has done well but he needs some more work."

If Kenny Ingram doesn't return to the team this upcoming summer, look for Darius McClure to possibly see some time at the free-safety position.

True freshman Anthony Leon will also get his shot to make an impact on the depth chart.
