LA DE is Drawing a Crowd

West Monroe (LA) is the home of one the country's finest defensive end prospects in the country. The 6-foot-4 and 260 pound standout has had quite a list of college coaches visiting so far this spring.

"Auburn came by yesterday and Florida State was by today," Luther Davis said. "Tomorrow, Tennessee will be here."

Davis, the youngest of five siblings, appears to like Miami, Florida State and LSU the most early on in this recruiting process.

"Miami just offered," he said. "When Miami offered, I talked to every coach on the phone. When they asked me who my favorite current Miami player was, I said Anthony Reddick. He happened to be in the office, so they put him on the phone. I also got to speak with Devin Hester. I love Miami because they put a lot of players in the NFL."

The Louisiana standout also appears to be very high on the Garnet & Gold.

"I was watching the draft last weekend and I noticed how Florida State had four 1st round draft picks," he said. "On the highlights, I noticed how Kamerion Wimbley was able to dip his shoulder. My favorite player on Florida State was Ernie Sims."

Davis, who will camp this summer with LSU, Miami and Florida State, could be a package deal with wide receiver Ahmad Paige and running back Joe McKnight.

"We would like to all play for the same school in college," he said. "I know they both like LSU, Miami and Florida State."

The future All-American wants to major in criminal justice in college.

"I would love to be a CIA agent but with my size I don't know how I can go covert," he said.
