Ahmad Paige Gives Verbal Commitment to FSU

Scout.com 5-star wide receiver Ahmad Paige announced his collegiate decision Thursday night on ESPNU and chose Florida State over LSU. In this exclusive Q&A, find out what the Louisianna native has to say about why he chose the Garnet and Gold, the FSU-Miami game and why he will still take official visits to other schools.

RenegadeReport.com: What was it about Florida State that made you decide to give them your verbal commitment?:

Ahmad Paige: "I just felt the most comfortable with FSU. Just everything about the school I love," Paige told RenegadeReport.com "I am comfortable there, my parents are comfortable with me going there and it's just a good fit.

RR: It's a soft verbal, does that mean you will take official visits to other schools still?

AP: "I kind of feel bad because I haven't given everybody an equal opportunity and that's something that I want to do. So I will still take my officials and make sure that going to FSU is something that I definitely want to do."

RR: How firmly are you committed to FSU?

AP: "It's kind of an 80 percent thing with FSU. They are really the team to beat. It's going to be hard to beat them unless something somewhere else just really wows me."

RR: You seemed to really hit it off with some of the Seminole players when you were here for the summer camp. Do you communicate with any of the guys still?

AP: "Me and Greg Carr talk every now and then. Me and him are cool. De'Cody Fagg and Chris Davis are real cool guys. "

RR: What did you think of the FSU-Miami game Monday night?

AP:"That was a great defensive game, man. It was crazy down there. The offense needs some speed."

RR: Some people argue that when FSU struggles offensively, offensive recruits may get discouraged. But do you kind of look at it like you can come in and help out?

AP: "That's exactly the way I look at it. I mean, one person can't be responsible for 30 more points. I feel that that I have an ability to stretch the field a little bit and open up De'Cody and open up Greg and help open up everybody else. I truly feel like I can come in and help."
