The following is a breakdown of the status of the players in their own words:
Geno Hayes (knee): It will probably Thursday or Friday (when it will known if he can play Saturday). It's an LCL sprain. I hope I will be able to play because it's a big game. But even if it wasn't a big game I'd want to play. Cause that's the kind of player I am."
Brandon Warren (hamstring): "I'll be ready to go by Saturday. I hope so. I have been going to therapy three times a day and working hard to get it back right, trying to loosen it up and hopefully I will be able to play. I know how my body is with treatment and stuff every three hours I think I will be fine. My body heals fast."
Aaron Jones (knee and ankle): "I am trying to be able to get back in it. I am just trying to do my part for the team."
Jae Thaxton (concussion): "Physically I am ready to go. I feel fine and I think I can play but the doctors don't want to clear me yet. I just have to take it one day at a time."
Jamaal Edwards (knee): "I am doing a lot better and am just gonna see how it is tomorrow and the day after that. I want to be able to play this weekend and I think I will be able to. We just gotta see."
In addition to the afore mentioned players, several Seminoles are battling with an injury bug that may or may not keep them out of Saturday's game against Boston College:
Tony Carter (knee): Sophomore starting cornerback has missed the last two games with a banged up knee but was seen running with his teammates Monday night. Carter told reporters that he should be ready to go by the time the Eagles come to play this weekend.
Toddrick Verdell (hamstring): Sophomore linebacker/safety tweaked his hamstring playing Duke last weekend. The severity of the injury has not been reported but it is said it's not as bad as Warren's. Verdell in all likelihood will be able to suit up this weekend.
Letroy Guion (shoulder): Like Verdell, Guion suffered a minor injury against the Blue Devils. The sophomore defensive tackle said Monday that he is taking it one day at a time and hoping to play Saturday.
Players out for the season:
Derek Nicholson (knee)
Paul Griffin (knee)
Marcus Ball (knee)
Anthony Houllis (Knee)
