Tuesday night, Florida State graduate assistant James Colzie revealed to RenegadeReport.com that sophomore cornerback Michael Ray Garvin will start at boundary corner for FSU this weekend against Virginia.
He replaces redshirt freshman Jamie Robinson.
"He's been a little inconsistent but he's worked hard," said Colzie, who coaches the defensive backs. "He's gone from a starter to backing up then going to a starter again. But he had a tremendous attitude about it. Michael Ray deserves to start."
"He's played well in the games and hopefully he can be the guy that makes them throw on the other side (against Tony Carter)."
Colzie said that the performances from both Garvin and Robinson against Maryland last weekend dictated the shuffling of the depth chart.
"It was more so what Michael Ray did as opposed to what Jamie didn't do (against Maryland)."
