Seminoles run past NOVA 96-66

Four Seminoles scored in double figures as the Florida State basketball team defeated NOVA Southeastern 96-66 Tuesday night in an exhibition contest.

The Seminoles are now 2-0 as the regular season is set to kickoff Sunday as McNeese State comes to the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Forward Al Thornton scored a game-high 17 points while forward Jason Rich added 16 points for the Tribe. Guard Toney Douglas and forward Casaan Breeden posted 13 points apiece and guard Isaiah Swann contributed 11 in the victory.

Thornton was 7-of-9 from the field with several of his baskets coming the easy way as he electrified the crowd on several dunks. The Georgia native added a steal, five assists and a block in 22 minutes of play.

Freshman forward Ryan Reid was a presence in the paint nabbing five rebounds and just as many charging calls.

In a game that Florida State never trailed in, the Seminoles shot 54.5 percent from the field and scored 39 points off of turnovers.

The 'Noles won the battle of points in the paint 40-20.
