Will Auguste reschedule a visit to FSU?

Talented defender was supposed to visit Tallahassee for the FSU-UF showdown but didn't make it. Do the Seminoles still have a chance with the Chaminade standout?

Scout.com four-star defensive back Akeem Auguste was supposed to visit Florida State this past weekend for the FSU-UF matchup but a scheduling conflict prevented him from making the roughly seven-hour drive from Hollywood, Fla. to Tallahassee.

"I really wanted to go but it didn't work out," Auguste told RenegadeReport.com. "I am trying to reschedule a visit to FSU."

The 5-foot-11 standout is set to visit West Virginia this weekend for their Big East showdown with Rutgers and will trip to South Carolina the following weekend. He currently has a top four of FSU, USC, Wake Forest and WVU.

So where do the 'Noles stand?

"I am definitely interested in Florida State because I have been a fan of them since I was a kid," Auguste said. "The defense is always good. I like it cause it's close to home, too."

Auguste, who is being recruited by FSU tight ends coach John Lilly, recently finished his senior season at Chaminade High after losing in the third round of the playoffs.

His teammate, Kamar Aiken, also boasts an offer from the Seminoles.

"We talk about playing together in college," Auguste said. "I know he likes FSU also. So we will see what happens."

Auguste will announce on National Signing Day in February.
