Seminoles 'finished strong' in the classroom

The FSU football team gets it done during the fall semester of school.

The Florida State football team may have struggled to accomplish its collective goals on the gridiron this season, but in the classroom it's another story.

Wednesday, head coach Bobby Bowden told members of the media that only linebacker Anthony Kelly, who has missed the entire season recovering from a shoulder injury, was the only member of the team to be redflagged following finals last week.

Linebackers coach Kevin Steele further eolaborated on the status of the Daytona Beach native as it appears that Kelly can fix his issue as he didn't actually fail a class.

"It's not because of anthing other than some work to be continued," Steele said. "We don't have any problems of anybody that's playing with us."

Generally, it's this time of year when some players throughout college football fail to conclude their semester of school with the appropriate grades necessary to compete in a bowl game.

FSU dodged that bullet and even though Kelly won't be permitted to travel with the team when it heads to California Friday for the Emerald Bowl, coaches were extremely pleased with the 'Noles' classroom prowess.

"We finished strong," Steele said.
