Will Joe McKnight visit FSU?

Five-star tailback's high school coach talks about the latest in the recruitment of his star athlete.

It's the question on the minds of all FSU fans: How many of the nation's premier recruits will be Seminoles on National Signing Day?

With several big-name prospects still available, the next week and a half should be filled with some fireworks.

One player that everyone is keeping an eye on is five-star tailback Joe McKnight. The Louisiana native hasn't publicly mentioned Florida State as one of his favorites but those close to the speedster say the Seminoles still have a shot.

"I think he is still thinking about FSU," said J.T. Curtis, who coached McKnight in high school. "He has to figure out if he wants to take a visit."

The country's No. 1-ranked tailback accoding to Scout.com is scheduled to visit LSU this weekend.

After that, Seminole fans and coaches alike will know just how interested in Florida State football McKnight is.

"He is going to decide on his final visit when he gets back from LSU," Curtis told Renegade Report. "I know that FSU is a possibility but I am sure we will talk about it and and make a decision."

The addition of offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher may be one of the keys to attracting McKnight to Tallahassee.

While he wasn't the coach to recruit the 5-foot-11 and 193-pound tailback at LSU, the former Tiger offensive coordinator knows all about McKnight - a prospect that some say draws comparisons to former USC star Reggie Bush.

"Coach Jimbo Fisher visited him not too long ago," Curtis said. "Joe thinks he's a really good coach. He's known who he is for a long time."

Stay tuned to see if FSU gets the final shot at this five-star prospect.
