Credit Toney Douglas with having the hot hand late and Al Thornton with using a big second half in the Seminoles' 74-66 victory over the Demon Deacons Saturday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
Thornton finished the game with 25 points and 11 rebounds and Douglas registered 10 straight points late in the contest for Florida State (15-5, 3-4 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Douglas finished with a total of 15 points.
The Demon Deacons were led by Kyle Visser's 17 points. FSU got 11 points from junior guard Isaiah Swann, who was replaced in the starting lineup by reserve guard Jerel Allen.
Jason Rich added eight more for the Tribe.
Florida State earned it's stripes from the free throw line against Wake Forest (9-11, 1-7 ACC) as they connected on 22 of 30 shots. The Demon Deacons, on the other hand, were just six of 12 from the line.
Next up for the 'Noles is a home game against Maryland Tuesday night as they try to push their conference record to the .500 mark.
Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
