This past weekend, Florida State hosted three-star linebacker/safety Maurice Harris, a recruit that has received some last-minute interest from the Seminoles.
The Homestead native made the trip from South Florida to the Panhandle and arrived in Tallahassee Sunday. He then made the short trip to Georgia to visit his mother before returning home.
Despite the quick turnaround and the fact that FSU has entered the picture late, Harris' football coach, who also happens to be his uncle, said that the 6-foot-1 and 190-pounder is definitely interested in FSU.
"They have a real good chance I think," Homestead Coach Bobby McCray told Renegade Report Monday afternoon. "Wisconsin and Ole Miss have been on Maurice for a while but FSU is a lot closer to home.
"We will talk about it and look at all the options."
Harris is listed as a linebacker/safety prospect in the Scout.com database but it's likely he will end up at safety at FSU.
"He can play either one," McCray said.
Harris will announce at an 8:30 a.m. press conference in his school's auditorium Wednesday.
Where do the 'Noles stand with Harris?
