The Florida State men's basketball team took another step backwards Wednesday night as they lost to the Maryland Terrapins 73-55.
After defeating Duke on the road earlier this month, FSU has now lost five straight and have all but eliminated themselves from consideration for the NCAA Tournament.
Senior foward Al Thornton led the 'Noles with 23 points against the Terps but scored just seven in the second half.
Isaiah Swann was the only other Seminole to score in double figures as he posted 12 but was just 2-of-9 from the field. Ralph Mims added nine.
For the game, FSU shot just 34 percent from the field.
Maryland was led by guard Mike Jones' 14 points. James Gist and D.J. Strawberry added 13 and 10, respectively.
Florida State returns home for their final game at the Donald L. Tucker Center of the 2006-07 season Saturday against NC State. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
5 in a row, Seminoles lose again
