Florida State, which has a 20-12 overall record, will play host to Toledo in a first round game in the 2007 Mastercard NIT on Tuesday March 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Donald L. Tucker center. The Seminoles are the No. 2 seed in the North Bracket of the 32-team tournament which begins Tuesday night and culminates with the semifinal and championship rounds on March 27 and 29 in Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Florida State finished the regular season with an overall record of 20-12 and an ACC record of 7-9. The Seminoles' 20 wins marks the second consecutive season the Seminoles have won 20 games - the Seminoles finished the 2005-06 season with a 20-10 record. It also marks the third time in the last four seasons that the Seminoles have won 19 or more games. The Seminoles have won at least 19 games in three of the first five seasons of the Leonard Hamilton era at Florida State. The Seminoles finished with a 14-3 record at home and a winning percentage of .823. It marked the second consecutive season the Seminoles have won at least 80 percent of their home games after recording a 13-2 record at home during the 2005-06 season for a winning percentage of .867 - the second best home winning percentage in school history. The Seminoles finished with a 5-3 record in home conference games marking the second consecutive season the Seminoles have won at least five conference games at home in the Donald L. Tucker Center.
Toledo, the regular season champion of the Mid-American Conference, enters Tuesday's game with a 19-12 record and a 14-2 record in conference play. The Rockets advanced to the semifinals of the MAC Tournament where they lost to fourth-seeded Miami of Ohio, 58-53. Toledo has won five of its last six games and played a tough non-conference schedule which saw them lost at both Vanderbilt (Dec. 2, 98-93 in overtime) and Kansas (Dec. 9, 58-68). Senior forward Keonta Howell is the Rockets leading scorer with a 14.8 points per game scoring average.
