Prospect Q&A: Darrell Scott talks about FSU

In 2002, Florida State nabbed St. Bonaventure High star Lorenzo Booker from the Golden State and for the 2008 class they hope to have another talented tailback from the same school wind up in a Seminole uniform. So, where do the 'Noles stand with five-star standout Darrell Scott? lists you as one of the best backs in the nation. How does that feel?

Darrell Scott: It feels good man. I actually participated in a combine today with 29-30 colleges, and one pro team, the Tampa Bay Bucs. I did pretty well. We did some route running and 7-on-7 type stuff.

ND: You are originally from Florida. How did you get out to California?

DS: My mom's job transfered her out here.

ND: About how many offers are you at right now?

DS: I have 40. They are from the best of the best.

ND: What do you bring to the table as a player?

DS: If we need to get down the field, I won't fold under pressure.

ND: Who do you compare yourself to as a runner?

DS: Man, people compare me to several people, mostly Adrian Peterson and Edge ( Edgerrin James).

ND: Do you have any interest in FSU at this time?

DS: (laughs) Of course I do. No doubt. It's my hometown. I have to represent my hometown.

ND: Who is recruiting you at FSU?

DS: Coach (John) Lilly. I have gotten a few letters from Coach (Jimbo) Fisher.

ND: Any schools sticking out?

DS: I am just laying low right now. I am not going to list the schools, it's just too many. Every college hs something to think about right now.

ND: Do you have any time frame when you plan on deciding?

DS: No. I really don't know right now. I am kind of lost in space with all of this. I am probably going to be a signing day decision.

ND: Do you plan on doing any summer camps?

DS: Just private camps like the B2G camp. I am not going to camp at any schools.

ND: Have you taken any tests yet?

DS: I take the SAT June 2nd. I am ready. I have a 3.3 GPA right now.

ND: Being from the same school as Lorenzo Booker, have you met or spoken to him?

DS: He was actually at the combine (Wednesday), but I was too busy doing my drills to speak to him. When his mini-camps are over, me and my coach are going to meet up with him.

ND: Finally, what are you looking for in a school?

DS: An open job at the running back position and a good line. Without a good line, a running back cannot do anything. And of course, a good coaching staff.
