Moses McCray on rumors: 'They are not true'

Talented Tampa defensive lineman sets the record straight on his verbal commitment to Florida State. You committed almost a month ago to FSU. What made you decide it was the best choice for you?

Moses McCray: It has been my dream school since I was a kid. I like the program and the coaches there.

ND: Who is recruiting you?

MM: Coach Odell Haggins. We have a good relationship. It's like a father/son relationship.

ND: There have been a lot of rumors lately that you are wavering a bit on your commitment. Care to speak on that?

MM: They are not true. I am 100 percent committed.

ND: You have said that you plan on taking visits. Is that still the case?

MM: Yeah. It is something my mom and I have talked about. She said I should take my visits to make sure. Right now I don't have a plan for that. I haven't thought about it. I am just thinking about my team.

ND: What makes you stand out as a player?

MM: In the classroom I am smart and I keep my grades up. On the field my coaches never have a problem with me. I have good tachnique and explosiveness. I feel I have a good all-around game and that I am versitile. I have played some linebacker, and still plan on doing that this year. I feel that I learn quickly, either as an end or a tackle.

ND: At this time what are your measurables?

MM: I am 6'3" and 275 pounds.

ND: When did you start playing football?

MM: I started in 9th grade because I was always too big for little league football.

ND: Finally, even though you are committed, what things are going to lock up your final decision on a school?

MM: Academics and athletics. I want to go to a school with a good program so I can go to the next level, but I also know that may not happen, so I want a good school academically that I can fall back on.
