According to reports, former University of Tennessee second baseman Tony Delmonico is set to transfer to Florida State.
Delmonico, whose father, Rod, was fired as head coach of the Volunteers earlier this month, was granted his release from the school and will now likely enroll at FSU in the fall.
As a sophomore last year, Delmonico had nine home runs, 53 runs and 49 RBI.
He helps fill a position of need for the Seminoles coach Mike Martin, who is looking to replace Tony Thomas, Jr. at second base.
