Al Thornton was selected No. 14 overall by the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday night in the first round of the NBA Draft.
The former Florida State star is the fourth Seminole in as many years to be drafted and the first to be drafted in the first round since Bob Sura in 1995.
Thornton's drafting by the Clippers fills a need for a franchise that lacked scoring at the small forward spot the past few seasons.
"I had a great coaching staff at Florida State and I think that's what prepared me," Thornton told ESPN cameras moments after his selection.
