A year ago, Preston Parker was just learning the offense and getting acclimated to college life. One year later, Parker is seen as one of the ‘Noles bright spots on offense. A concern for many Seminole fans has been his recent shoulder injury suffered during the spring. "Yeah I'm back to 100% right now. I'm feeling good about practice" says Parker. At practice, Parker showed no signs of injury while hauling in some nice grabs from both Xavier Lee and Drew Weatherford. Parker also excelled in blocking drills as well, getting praise from the coaching staff.
Preston has also undergone a few key changes in the off season. One change has been his position coach and former ‘Nole Coach Dawsey. Parker tells Noledigest.com "He's the best coach I've ever had. He is a coach that will tell you what to do every time. He'll tell you when you're wrong and he'll tell you when you're right. He's just overall a great coach". With an excellent coach to mentor him along the way Parker can be a major contributor to the offense this season. Another change that Preston has seen over the past few months has been his number. Parker will be wearing number 5 this year. Parker gives Noledigest.com some insight on the number change "My older brother had #5 when he played for FAU (Florida Atlantic). Also I wore #5 in high school .I'm just playing for my older brother right now".
There has been talk among Seminole fans about Parker and his potential. Parker realizes this and has improved his game overall in the off season. The one part of his game he really improved in the off season was his speed. "I'm trying to improve my speed. I just need to get past those corners." says Parker. On Thursday, Parker showed off his speed, also looked more shifty, and smoother than last season. All of this leaves Seminole nation wondering "What can we expect out of Preston Parker?" "A bust out player this year, right from under the covers ….watch out."
