ANY WORRIES ABOUT JEREL HUDSON FOR SATURDAY?
"Well, I sure wish he could go because they run the ball so good you need a big guy in there, that's his forte'. Anyway, maybe he'll be ready to play some Saturday. I'm pretty sure he'll be limping."
ON UM RUNNING GAME
"It really is amazing. When Portis left early you wonder who's gonna take his place, then they had the kid who played behind him last year who's so good, that's injured and is out, then they come in there with McGhee and he is running as good as any of them. You can't tell there's any difference. That's the thing about this Miami team, after losing the players they had this year, and then you look at them and you can't tell the difference. You see no drop-off.''
ON UM SECONDARY
"Can't see much drop-off, nah. Some inexperience, but they got talent, and then their defensive line makes up for anything. Their front seven is so experienced, they take a lot of pressure off of their secondary."
SIZE UP THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE BATTLE
"That is the big matchup right there, no doubt about it. Our offensive line against their defensive front, and then their OL against our defensive front, both of us got skill, both of can throw and catch the ball, both of us got runners. Now there's no doubt about it, this game will be up front.''
IS THIS THE ULTIMATE TEST FOR YOUR LINE?
"Yes, we think when you play Miami you're playing the best in the country, no doubt about it, this is the supreme test. That would be big (if we can block them). And the same thing for them. Both of us want to have the presence of the running game, and if it is successful it will dictate whether or not your offense is successful _ theirs and ours. IF either side's run was shut down, the other team would have tremendous advantage."
YOUR KICKING GAME IS BETTER
"I feel much better going into this ballgame. Shame that team (two years ago) didn't have this kicker. So at least I feel better in that area. He (Xavier Beita) made a 53-yarder today (in practice).''
